I baked for a friend’s aunt; the request was two simple cakes with no frills but must be a repeat of previous cakes her aunt had tasted from my kitchen. So I made a dark cocoa red velvet cake and vanilla birthday cake. I am not sharing a recipe because I used a standard recipe from one of my favorite authors with minimal tweaks that can’t be explained.
I will be trying a new flavor mixture for my little one’s birthday next weekend, and promise to share that recipe.
In the photo below; the red velvet cake was laced with frosty vanilla icing, while the vanilla cake was coated with white/dark chocolate buttercream icing and the rosettes was made from the same icing for the velvet cake. I made this cake when I was a little tired but still excited to bake, I hope the taste is great for them as it was for my hubby when he tasted my side samples.
Until next time!
