Making a spread, as easy as it is to make has never really being something of interest to me BUT having exhausted all quick things to create with figs from a friend’s tree. Jam spread came to mind.
- 680 g ( Mango fruit ~1.5 and Fig fruit ~7)
- 1.5 cups of granulated sugar
- 2 tbsp lime juice
- Lecithin ( if you want to thicken, I did not add)
What you’ll need
- Saucer/boiling pot or Bread-machine
- Chopping board
Cut up the fruits into a bowl, add the sugar and lime then mash together to small chunks using whatever you have in hand. Then pour into the pot or bowl of bread-machine ( I used my machine so that I can walk away while it boils for the 90 minutes it needed to cook). On the stove/cooker top, you just stir while it boiles till it is ready.
Everyone enjoyed the jam on a fresh home baked bread. Yum 🙂
